This was quite a special wedding! As I didn’t know I was going to shoot it upon til 8 hours in advance. Poor Gerke had suffered a back injury and called me to fill in for her. As it was quite late the bride (lovely Marieke) had no idea yet.
To top it off I figured: ‘better be early’ and arrived before her master of ceremony could tell her about me coming. Color her surprised! Being the amazing woman she is she learned my name and anounced after 15 minutes: it’s ok! Megin is sweet too!
I WAS SO HAPPY she said that. I would have so understood if she would have been at least the slightest bit upset. But she wasn’t. BAM. This was the start of a lovely, warm and sunny day (in the middle of tons of rain so woo!).
I arrived in a very prettily decorated house where there were tons of pretty things for me to photograph.
Like this amazing tiara!
Marieke’s mom did all the decorating. How amazing is she?
And also this dress, right?
And meet the misses! Marieke was so much fun to be around. This was wedding filled with laughter!
Isn’t that cute? The L stands for Luuk, who is still on his way to Marieke.
I love hand shots. In case you haven’t noticed in all my other posts ever.
Isn’t she pretty?
YES she is!
OH and meet Luuk! Who arrived in an amazing car. Looking fab.
With an awesome blue suit!
Check out this weather. Really. Check. It. Out.
Aww I love the first look. And how small she is and how tall and how cute they are and oooh!
Yay flowers!
This. This smile. Sets the tone for the day!
Looking over his lady.
Not only looked good I can tell you!
And a special duo.
Eh oh. Redressing the bride in the kitchen.
No matter, everyone is still having a blast.
The couple had special pens for everyone who was a witness.
So in love!
Oh and yes, badass car!
How can you not have fun with this lady?
Here comes her man.
So yes, hands.
Are we doing this?
Hah yes ;)
They needed no posing instructions ;)
Nor cuteness instructions.
We were looking for a tree. Gerke instructed me the night before there would be an amazing tree. But we all had no clue ..
Again I love how petite she is!
And yes hands :P
A true gent.
WE FOUND THE TREE. Luuk wasn’t paying attention though ;)
Tree? What tree? I see Marieke ;)
These guys had it all. Cool shades, cool everything.
I love this.
Did I mention Marieke is a teacher? Cause well, she is. And there were hundrdes of kids waiting for her and her hubby to be.
MORE smiles!
I was so overwhelmed by cuteness at this point. Seriously check out all the cute pink kids.
There was a dance. Yes. It was spectacular.
Also they were married by her students. Who needs a ceremony after this? (Sorry Mark look at this kid below. He got style!).
He’s got this things!
Bubbles! ;)
Preparation!
Cheers!
There were some surprises for me during the day, since I only met the two of them well, on the day. This was one of them, Luuk is one hell of a sax player!
Proud dad!
Meet Mark. He made this an amazing ceremony. Really. Go visit his site (click).
Oh and yes hands.
A BLAST. Everyone was so well spoken and funny and heartfelt!
Lots of love :)
Let me help you with that ;)
‘For my baby’
NOW KISS! Wooo!
‘Here you might need these’
These two, GOT MOVES.
How pretty is this table?
Or this cake?
Did I mention the moves? That they have?
It was a blast. The whole day. And an honor for me to be accepted by Marieke and Luuk so easily. I’m very glad that THEY are happy with my photos and to be able to be a part of their day.
Also one hundred million thanks to the boyfriend. Usually I plan out my weddings to the dot. Parking space you name it. As I didn’t have time for that he came along and was the perfect wingman/dirve/assitant/everything. Thank you <3
